hello everyone,

I rebuilt the motor on my truck, the motor is making a pinging noise. There's no rough idle and no backfiring; so I'm sure that I set the timing chain correctly.

I've already adjusted the timing to 5 degrees, calibrated the throttle, did the gapping on the spark plugs, adjusted the gapping on the valves.

The check engine light keeps coming on and after all the things that I've done the motor makes the pinging when it has a load on it and goes away after a couple seconds. So when I'm taking off, or going up a hill in the same gear it pings for a few seconds.

I'm getting code 41 and code 52 (tps signal to ecu, and k/s to ecu). Does anyone have a remedy?

Yes, fix your knock sensor as it's what stops pinging from happening and adjust your TPS.

Mudder, the harness that the guy sent us was damaged, it was missing female housing connector so I had to make it work. I couldn't find the connector so I put a connector from a 97 corolla tweaked it a little and it connected. It's soldered and shrink-wrapped.. I know your not supposed to mess with shielded cable

any suggestions on what I can do now?

When I had mine break I removed all of the old cable so I could solder it back on and used coax cable to cover the new wire I was soldering as you need the shielding around your K/S wire.
