Ok, I have a new fuel pump, new disty, new wires, new plugs, good timing, fuel in the float bowl, new igniter and new coil. Idle speed set properly. On full acceleration I have no problem. On rapid decel I hear valve pinging occaisionally. But the big issue is when i have a light acceleration (in any gear) or have the accelerator just slightly depressed the truck kicks like a mule for a second and then runs fine, until the same situation with accelerator pressure occurs.

I am thinking accelerator pump in the carb.

Any suggestions or experience with the above?

Thanks in advance.

Is it bucking till it gets the gear all the way then runs fine?

No, it bucks with gear fully engaged when the gas pedal is only slightly depressed. Heavy right foot pretty much eliminates the problem.

could also be an air issue. There was some sort of diaphram in the emmission control system that will do this too.

That's what I was thinkin, mine would bog down a lil everytime I shift got an air intake off eBay for like 20 bucks and it nights just be me but it actually wants to shift instead of bog down, jus my thought.
