Just got a recall notice for my 2025 Tacoma Off-road for the defective front axle part that may break. Looks like this was first known in early October as that is the first thing I can find via Google on this issue: 2025 25TB11 FRONT AXLE SHAFTS MAY BREAK - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2025-25tb11-front-axle-shafts-may-break.866999/.
You’d think Toyota would have learned something from the MY 2022/2023 rear axle recall and the other engine and transmission issues. I believe these all these have been manufacturing process related. Very disappointing.
This one is an iterium notice as they are still determining the remedy. I get that they have to send a notice as soon as they realize a safety problem and that it takes time to figure out the remedy but now I get to drive around wondering if my front axle will break and I “may not complete a turn as intended” until I get the remedy notice. This Toyota announcement seems to say Toyota will inspect the serial numbers of the front drive shafts and replace if necessary. Makes me wonder why the owner notice I got says remedy is still pending.
