Why would I call them? We already have a 17 thats a year old. We will be trading just like you traded yours :)

My wife is trading her 17LX for a 18 LX
and I am trading my 16LC for an 18 LC :)
Sorry, my bad. I misread it.

The '18 MSRP must have taken a price hike, or Toyota is charging virtually the same price for ones without screens? The replacement cost is $12k for those screens! Taking them out should've dropped the price by at least $8k:hmm:

The screens are now a $2200 option according to the Toyota configurator. Wouldn't surprise me if the replacement cost was $12k tho :-P

I took delivery of my 2018 200 without rear seat entertainment on the 9th of September. It was the first retail delivery in the US of a 2018 Land Cruiser. I love it. I hated the rear screens, that is the reason I would not purchase a 2016 or 2017.
This is my 6th Land Cruiser. Yes, it is an obsession!

Nice ride! congrats!

If I buy an 18 next year, I am also getting silver with black interior. That's my favorite combo since they dropped my beloved Super White back in 2011.

I'm waiting for the 2018 parts to show up online before I pass judgement. The leather cover is a separate part so it may be possible to pull the leather off the top portion of the seats, glue some foam into the cutout for the screen, then recover the seat with the 2018 cover. The issue is that the covers for the 2016/17 are $825/ea so you're looking at $2000+ to erase the screens. If you want new 2018 headrests that aren't cutdown to make room for the screens you're looking at another $1100.

I know a lot of people want to remedy this situation and although I initially thought these were the dumbest things ever added to a cruiser, my 4 year old daughter loves them. Should they have been an option? Yes. Should they be removable? Absolutely. Will I remove them? Eventually. But...

I wouldn't get too stuck on looking for a Mr T solution to fix the hole. Any really good upholstery place worth their salt should be able to take your seats apart and make a solid piece of matching fabric for much cheaper than sourcing the '18 stuff. If you wanted the option of adding them back on then a more unique approach may be needed but still very attainable by professional installers.

Cost of the 18's???? Or, what can you buy one for?

Looked at a 18 here in Denver. Black with terra interior. All options other than the controversial rear monitors. Sticker was 85,000. IMHO truck looks better wo the screens.

Through the costco buying program you can get an '18 with remote start & four season mats for $79,150. That includes "destination" but not TT&L. TT&L varies by state and county. I think that price is dealer invoice plus around $750, but I'm not positive.

BTW, that is MSRP minus about 6k.

EDITED: According to Edmunds.com "dealer invoice" on an '18 LC with remote start and 4-season mats is $76,769 including $1,250 in destination. MSRP is $85,883 + TT&L. So, the Costco Auto price is $2,400 over dealer invoice and $6,700 under MSRP. If someone gets a price closer to Invoice, or gets a better number for invoice, it would be great to know about it.

I would expect at some point see the 18s without the screens to be transacting in $76-78k range, same as the 16-17s were with the screens since the MSRPs are similar. Might have to give it a few months for the 17s to clear out, before deals star getting more aggressive on the 18s.

Around here dealers are always aggressive on LC

Since they sell so few, they don't play the "18 is new and thus we can't lower price" games, as they do on a Camry

Also LC shoppers are seldom walk ups at a dealership that came for 4 runner and walk out with LC. Most LC buyers go just to buy LC

I have always seen pretty aggressive prices on newest model (in this case 18s). If they have 17 left over, they usually aggressively discount those to get them moved fast..

76-77k for a 18LC isn't hard to get at all
