Recently I have had issues with my phone paired via Bluetooth. Of course we just had a hands free law pass in Maine so you can’t be screwing around with your phone.
It seems when I call or get a call my phone links to Bluetooth then disconnects and the reconnects etc. if I put it on speaker phone it switches off speaker and continues the cycle of connecting and disconnecting. I tried turning off Bluetooth during this and the Bluetooth turns back on.

my wife has the same issue with her 2017but she uses an iPhone se

I tried swapping all variables and restArting everything but it still occurs

anyone else having similar issues?

thanks
John

Try deleting your phones from the truck system and then re-add them. If you've got them both added and are both connected at the same time I've seen the system do some funky things.

I tried this

it happens even with a single listed connected phone to each truck
Originally both trucks had both phones but it happens even after I deleted everything from both trucks and reestablished single phones

I am suspecting this is an apple issue as I turned off the Bluetooth while having this issue and the Bluetooth turns back on without any input from me

This didn’t happen previously so I am wondering about a bug with updates from Apple

I’ve had iPhones and iPads paired with an LC since ‘08 and a LX for two years and I have never had that issue. The LC has had a few issues but Bluetooth has come a long way and it’s been quite a while since I’ve had any problems. I’ve probably paired a dozen iPhones and 4 iPads now.

The IOS 13.1 or higher are having issues..................The new Apple iPhone iOS 13.1 is a brand new operating system. Toyota radio software are still not tested for this new iOS including the TSB software. It has something to do with the iOS Bluetooth permissions. We can only test the radios with a known good compatible phone. We will not be updating radios if the customer's phone is running iOS 13.1 as all radio updates are not capable of handling the new iOS. Customers will have to wait if and when Toyota will come out with a new compatible radio software update.

Ok thanks for the info

sorta sucks I can’t use the Bluetooth with my phone to make calls

Well I was told after apple did the update, alot of people are having issues.... me too

Anyone have any updates on this? I am having this issue with my 2018 and my iPhone X.

I have a 2019 and an iPhone X and have no problems

Whenever I have problems w/my iphone connecting, I do a re-set of the phone.
Hold the side on off button + the round button at the same time . Screen goes black & wait for the Apple
logo. In a few moments your home screen comes back. I have the car shut off and restart.

So far so good with this method for me.

I've done same as what @Hothonda says above. Had issue with recent iPhone X update. Did this and works fine.

If the most recent update to iOS is the perceived cause, you can always sign up for the beta developer test program with apple and get the more updated beta iOSs to see if that solves it? Obviously there's a slight risk with beta software, but I usually wait until the later iterations to make sure it's not super buggy. Not a guaranteed solution, but just a suggestion.

I update my phone frequently and have had no issues with my '17.

I just bought a new 2020 model and my phone stays connected fine, BUT it does not recognize my contact list. It will recognize them for about two minutes then that feature goes away and it wont bring them back up. Very annoying. I have an iphone 8 with software version 13.3
