Im looking to install a TRD Super charger on a 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser. Just making sure the normal kit off the Tundra will fit the new Land Cruiser. I understand there will probably be some modifying to the kit but just want to make sure the main blower will bolt on. Im also looking for some advice on a ECU to run it. The only one I have heard of is the UNI-CHIP. Please let me know if yall have any advice on this topic.

thank you

Blaine

Better hurry up and track down a TRD SC right quick, as TRD sadly ain't in the SC business any more. There are ostensibly aftermarket options available, but definitely lack the bling factor and warm fuzzies you'd derive from a brand spanking new LC with a shiny TRD branded SC nestled under the hood...

There's a couple SC related discussions around here -- things like the TRD intake won't fit in the LC (although maybe with the redesigned '16 bonnet it might?) and ecu insights.

Good news.... The supercharger will bolt on. A new kit from Magnuson is just hitting the market, TRD discontinued, so they picking it up. Their kit has a different intake hose that should connect properly to the stock LC 200 air box. I'm seeing more and more talk about people being able to flash the Toyota ECU... or they are getting close. The coming years are going to very good to 200 owners.

Check out Hennessy. They will get your LC to push over 500hp

Superchargers are BOSS HOG but thats higher than a hump back

The 6 speed is rated by Aisin to handle over 500 ft/lbs, I'm willing to bet the 8 speed is right there with it, if not higher.

91 Octane is required.

Given how short the range is already, supercharging just wouldn't work for me. I would have to fill up every 200 miles or less.

Mileage goes up during normal driving, and even a little during towing... but when you enjoy the power, it will drink quickly.

Is there any concern about the new hood, specifically the center dip section, preventing a S/C from being installed due to lack of vertical clearance? might sound dumb I don't own a 2016 so I don't know the clearance with the hood closed...

I just talked with Hennessey, and they discontinued the LC upgrade. They couldn't get the check engine light to go off. I think this is a problem for all the supercharged 200s?

I think there was a dealership doing them in the Carolinas but I forget the name.

That's right Willy, thanks! I'm calling Unichip tomorrow to see if they have any updates.
