OK so I know it is a long way off yet but the early bird gets the worm. I want to plan a trip to the mountains with my wife. I am new to LC but have acquired a nice 97 that I will spend some more money on to get ready. My question is this. Should I plan on attending an event like cruiserfest or something similar? Or should I just plan a trip on my own and do my own searching out of trails? I am not new to 4 wheeling and also have an 84 cj7 that we do some offroading in. I am not so much interested in rock climbing but more scenic trails into the mountains. We are mid 50's if that makes a diff.:flipoff2: Thanks for any and all input!

Where do you live?

Byron Center, Michigan but I am willing to plan a vacation around an event.

I would suggest GSMTR2012. Has something for everyone with any type of rig . My wife and I are in the same boat been there done that kinda mind. But I still like pushing the rig to it's limits every now and then , just to see if I still can . I really enjoy loading it back up knowing I don't have to work on it when I get home . So check out Great Smokey Mountail Trail Ride when you get a chance .

x2 on Cruise Moab. You will remember it for a long time. All the great vendors show up and trail rides go from mild to wild. You also have very experienced people leading the way. Oh and the evenings are incredible. Let's just hope it moves away from Slickrock Campground in the near future.
