That is the same nav units used in other Toyota models. I would also guess they probaby still get the aisin electric winch. Also in that part of the world, Land Cruiser is not just seen as a luxury vehicle, it's more like the Chevy Tahoe here in the US except wildly more popular.

that is true, am sure you lived over there or at least been there more than a month

I prefer tube tires over tubeless. My 4runner can be dropped to 10psi with no worries.

Hey guys,

I'm living in Qatar at the moment, seems like every 5th vehicle on the road is the 200 series cruiser, the other 4 are 100 series :).

Major upsets among the locals that the 5.7 isn't available yet, that being said said according to the dealer they are still back ordered for 3 to 4 months in all trims and engines.

The sand tyres used over here are usually made by dunlop, bridgestone or Siam (Thailand) tyre. They are generally tubed 9.00x16 (9.00 radius I guess? x 2 + 16"rim) (but 15's and 17's are available) which make them around 33 to 34 inches tall.

They manage to fit inside the wheel wells of the 100's, 200's and patrols without much trimming of the mud guards. They're noticiably larger than the original 275/70R16's used on most of the full size suv's over here.

My experience has been the vast majority of the 100 series cruisers here have 16's, either alloys from the factory or the 17's on the vx-r are taken off to be replaced with steelies for the sand tires. That being said, I have a gut feeling the 200 series only comes with 17's due to the larger brakes.

Yet to see one bashing around the desert, be interesting to see how they hold up to the abuse (1.5 meters in the air, and banging off the rev limiter) like to the older cruisers.

You forgot Hero as well for the sand tyre. Mashallah your keeping up with the locals with the VTC. But i heard that the 5.7 is going to be Available in the near future.

Snap, can't see the pics, access denied. Could someone do everybody a favor and post pics directly so they appear without having to click on dodgy links? Chokran jazilan.

Chokran jazilan.
Its Shukran :)

The available engines for the new 200 is the 4.7L and the 4.0 V6. So sad the big cruisers straight 6 1FZ was ditched for the lesser V6. It's gonna be soo much harder to turbo the new LC's now. DAMMIT! :flipoff2:

I don't even know why Toyota bothers with a V6 anyway. Terrible vibration, and fuel economy a hair better than a V8....they should offer fours, straight sixes, and eights.
