2003 sequoia stiff steering wheel doesn't return to center

as title. Steering suddenly seems a little stiffer and wheel doesn't quickly center. where to start

Was a frozen u-joint in intermediate steering shaft in my 3 vehicles. Last one was in 2019 Tundra, didn't survive mud bathing.

Exactly. I had mine replaced last winter. It feels like you are in 4WD on dry pavement.
