Gentlemen - I have become addicted to my wife's V8 GX470 and am going to make a move on a 2004 4.7L 4Runner out of Salt Lake in the classifieds (damn this site and its readily available vehicles).

With that, the 2002 4Runner is up for sale. Price is $10,950. It has 119890 miles currently.

I tried to PM Zane to get the PO's info to offer up the vehicle, first, back to the PO, but his PM's are full! :) So Ryan if you are out there and want it back it is up for sale!

Its a wonderful truck that honestly lacks nothing, but the power of the 4th Gen. It has had a lot of alterations to make it VERY capable off road, the majority of which were done by the POs. As an example it has the rear Elockers of a '99 rear axle, but still gets the 2001/2002 open center diff that can be locked, as well (best of both worlds). It has the ability to turn off the ABS/VSC/Trac mode as needed while on dirt or off road, but still keep it on for city.

The "upgrades" since I have owned it, most of which are with FlatlandTRD's help, are the following:

New upper and lower ball joints
New 33" BFG ATs
New OME rear springs and lowered front coils
Thule Roof Rack, Full Set of Husky Liners, etc.

It rides down the highway very well and AC, Cruise and all other "nice to haves" are there.

List of stuff done to the vehicle over last few owners:

2002 SR5 4Runner
OME N91s shocks w/ Tundra TRD coils (2.5” lift)
OME N74e w/ OME 891 3” springs
Extended brake lines from Wheelers
Sonoran Steel 1" diff drop
Sonoran Steel shaved OEM front UCAs
Sonoran Steel rear sway-bar adjustment brackets
Sonoran Steel rear adjustable panhard
Blacked-out FZJ80 OEM alloy wheels (w/ full sized spare and NEW AT like rest)
285x75r16 BFG AT T/A w/ ~6K miles on them
4.30s front/back and e-lock rear from the '99 4Runner
VSC/TRAC disable switch (Andy Mod)
Tacoma Safari Snorkel
Airraid intake cold-air tube
Blacked out fender flares and side mirrors
Tacoma ARB Bullbar w/ "Cubillan Bar" mod
DRL disabled
Budbuilt skid plate
CBI Off Road Fab rear bumper w/ swing out tire carrier and gas can holder
FZJ80 OEM horns
Newly replaced upper and lower OEM ball joints (thanks FlatlandTRD)
Thule Roof Rack
Scion stereo
Husky Liner Floor Mats

I will post more pics soon, but will also open up the sale to other channels in a few days.

Thanks!

Jamie

Oh man, this thing is so nice, especially since you fixed the problems from the original owner. Now it's functional and not just for looks. This is a hell of a deal, and there's a few other things that need to be added to your list that have been done and go with it. Plus it is so quiet, wasn't quite prepared for that ;p

Thanks, Jason. The PO really did do a nice job taking care of it while he had it - it was the guy before that that went a little over board :)

With your help I feel it is as solid of a machine as you can buy of its age/mileage. Given 3rd Gen 4runners I believe still hold the top spot for best reliability from Consumer Reports and others, it is a winner.

I do have a ton of other stuff that I will do a better job of listing out in the final ad in the classified section. I just wanted to get it out to our group here local first/fast.

To your point, it does have a 1" body lift, I have 9 Wix oil filters, extra rear tail lights, heavy duty rock sliders, extra front coil top plates, steering stabilizer parts, and a few other things that I will put into update along with detailed pictures.

In the end, I wanted to add a dual battery system a baja rack a winch, lighter sliders, and other things, and I just decided that instead of doing all that to this platform, I wanted to upgrade to the 4th Gen platform. This is still a great vehicle and probably more reliable and better gas mileage than a 4th Gen. :)
