2001 LX470 - Third brake light housing removal

Can somebody help me figure out how to remove the third brake light housing on the top of the tailgate on a 2001 LX470? Mine is cracked and water is leaking through it down the back window, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it off to replace it.

This is for a tailgate light with no spoiler. There are two rubber grommets on the inside of the tailgate. When I remove them, I see what look like bolts on a post, but I am not sure what type of wrench I need to get it unscrewed. See photos

There are a couple of rubber grommets on the inside. Remove those and there are two 10mm (I think) nuts holding the brake light on.

you also have to pop the upper part of the trim up in the hatch to remove the connector
