Finally got around to attempt the ML repair on the rear driver side sub, but this repair kit does not seem to fit...
Here is where I am at:
When placing the replacement surround on top, with the dimensions: outer diameter=6 1/8" inner diameter=4" cone diameter=4 3/8
The outer ring of the new surround is too big to place where the old surround was, but rather, sits where the gasket top was. And because of this, there is a gap between the inner diameter of the surround and the cone:
All the threads I have seen describe a snug fit, and link listings for surrounds with the exact same dimensions. I measured this one and it is true to size. Why does it not fit? Should I try to glue the interior diameter first, then make the outer diameter lay on top? Thanks in advance, was really hoping to have a bass sound for holiday travels.
