200 Series Land Cruiser

Having problems with bluetooth navigation system. People are having problems hearing on the microphone. Toyota feels nothing is wrong with the microphone but people are complaining that they can't hear us no matter how loud we talk and how close we get to the microphone. Any help out there?:) 200 series

wow a 2000 LC! lol

2000? Shouldn't you be in the 100 forum?

:flipoff2:

I'm sure that TydixCruiser will post again after all of these helpful posts!!!!

I learned quickly that a thick skin is needed on here...I am sure he will see that also :grinpimp:

We are just playing anyway :flipoff2:

It's too bad, but unfortunately thick skin is needed on any forum. People are so rude when it's not face to face. They are protected by the computer.

It would be interesting to meet some of the negative posters in person, I bet they are all pansies!

Nah, I'm the same in person as I am on the forum. :grinpimp:

Same as me.....

I am sure some are all talk....but who knows!!!

 Okay guys cut it out. Tydixcruiser is my mom and you made her cry.:crybaby: What no one else has a 2000 200 series LC?!!

Actually, she knows what vehicle she has but can't edit the title of the thread. It is a new 200 series. :flipoff2:

Really though, her bluetooth system sucks! When they call me, I can't hear them at all. There is no difference between who is talking, passenger or driver.

They've already took it in once and basically got blown off by the dealership. They contacted Toyota customer service directly and wouldn't you know it. Right away the dealership called back and wanted to take it back. This time they did open the system up and supposedly turned something up (it was at a 3 and now it's at a 6). Anyways, we're going to go pick it up now and see if it is better.

By the way, she didn't cry, but was just embarrased.:p

Oh, and I'm extremely jealous of her LC.:flipoff2:

Well, it works good now. So if this happens to anyone and the dealership says it's fine and there are no adjustments for the mic, they are either lieing, lazy, or just don't know what they are talking about.

There is an adjustment somewhere inside the unit that was set on 3 and now it is turned all the way up. I can now hear them fine when I am on my bluetooth earpiece driving with my window down.

Glad to hear things worked out well!

I have never liked bluetooth integrated into the vehicle.

My acura (which I loved) had it, my LC has it, my dads LX has it...I hate it all....

Just my opinion!

Just out of curiosity, I'd like to know what they did. In ours, the head unit looks like it has two mics - driver and passenger side. However, no one can ever hear the passenger speaking.

Is there no mic on the passenger side or if there is, maybe its turned down so low that no one can hear them speaking.

If you go into Diagnostic Mode on the Navigation screen, by pressing the combo of:
Display, Upper Left, Lower Left, Upper Left, Lower Left, Upper Left, Lower Left (3 up down cycles). Press on the horizontal line at the left edge at the upper and lower part of the screen (I was trying to press on the left corners, and kept hitting the display contrast button).

Navigate around the info screens until you see Bluetooth Tel or something like that. It will show you the microphone level, and you can record and play back some audio to test. I could not change the mic level. It would be very cool to program stuff from the display.
