Alright so my truck is throwing me two issues at once and I’ve got a hunch they’re related maybe related?
What’s going on:
• Horn is straight up dead. Nothing. Zero sound.
• Popped the relay out to check it and it’s not even clicking when I mash the horn button. So probably not the horn itself or a blown fuse — feels like something’s off before it even gets to the relay.
• Then I noticed the SRS light isn’t coming on at all when I start the truck. Not staying on, not flickering, just never lights up. That’s what’s got me pretty worried.
My guess:
Horn and SRS both run through the clock spring in the steering wheel, so a dead clock spring would explain both problems at once — no continuity for the horn, and a broken SRS circuit. Kinda makes sense they’d fail together if that’s the culprit?
Questions for you guys:
1. Does “SRS light never turns on” scream clock spring specifically, or could it be something else?
2. Anyone dealt with horn + SRS dying together and it turned out to be something else entirely?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
