Drives fine, no engine lights. At idle every 30 seconds or so I get an idle blip - sometimes it dies.

In tech stream I am seeing cylinder 6 misfire code, sometimes other cylinders but not as many as cylinder 6- again not enough to set the CEL.

I have changed all 8 coils and plugs, cleaned MAF, new air filter. Put in injector cleaner, 91 oct fuel from Costco.

Techstream pics are before blip, during blip, after blip.

Videos are in and out of cab - obviously. tech stream clip is blurry but pics below capture it.

Outside cab idle
Inside cab idle
Tech stream - a bit blurry

I’m not familiar with Techstream but could it be a vacuum leak? Maybe a fuel pump issue or injector issue? That clicking/sucking sound it makes when idling down is definitely weird. Wish I could be of more help.

Yeah… the clicking sucking thing it does I think is the biggest clue to what the issue is but I also have no clue what it is. I looked all over for vacuum issues and don’t see any, also sprayed some ether and no changes.

It may be the pump or injector. The clicking does seem to be coming from that cylinder 6 area so maybe it’s just going out, weird though that it runs like a champ when driving. I tried to give it an Italian tune up and drove around 3-5k rpm for a few miles and then back to regular driving and no hiccups, only when idling.

Guess I’ll order some injectors and then a pump if that doesn’t work.

Maybe clean the throttle body just in case but a new injector on cylinder 6 may be a good place to start. I’ll keep scratching my brain and let you know if I come up with another idea.
I appreciate your help! I should probably mention this is a relatively new “to me” engine pulled out of a tundra. Had 95k miles on it. Had my mechanic do the swap and have put about 30 miles on it since. So I really don’t know much about it other than we scoped the cylinders, did a compression test, and gave it a visual inspection when swapping the oil pan etc.

I did clean the TB today and also hot soaked the intake with some cleaner. Puffed some carbon smoke but that was it.

If you did all that, then my guess is it has to be something fairly simple. Maybe injector related, possibly something to do with the vacuum canister. @2001LC seems to be very knowledgeable and may have better input.

My first thought was a sticky ac compressor clutch. To rule this out see if it does it with the ac off.

The sucking noise makes me think it's throttle body related. There's an air bypass for idle when the butterfly is closed, I'd check that's not clogged and look at the IAC. It sounds like it's building pressure (or vacuum) and then releasing. When you did the engine swap, did you leave the tundra throttle body or swap on the lc throttle body?

Ac was off in these vids, I have tried it both ways though. It’s the LC intake manifold and TB. I do have a new pcv, Oem injectors, and MAF coming, just for kicks bc they’re relatively inexpensive and original anyway. I was wondering about the throttle body itself. I cleaned it and it’s responsive, but there’s a bit of slack on the cable, but I don’t know how much is too much and if it’s even related.

This issue seems to happen much more often when I hold a steady rev, say 2500 rpm; it’ll click and throw a fit every few seconds and in quicker succession. It also seems to happen less when in drive. I can even stomp the brake and gas and rev to 2500 and it does it maybe 3x in a minute whereas in park it’ll do it it 20x at the same rpm, weird.

Changed MAF and PCV, disconnected battery for 20 mins etc and no change.

Took a longer vid while manipulating the throttle.
