Hey guys , need some help. 200 Series 2011 4.5 D .
A couple of months ago I installed an Android Radio interface. All good for a few weeks , then it froze and along with that the car would not start using the start stop push button. I removed the unit thinking something may be conflicting , but the car would only randomly start using the button. Booked it into Toyota , they diagnosed it to the start stop button (Antenna?) ... Had that changed, got the car back , told me it was all sorted, but after driving it for a few mins the security light started flashing on the stereo. Turned around took it back to Toyota , they had another look , scanned it again / disconnected battery / changed key battery , and came to the conclusion the door handle was faulty as the keyless entry was not opening the door on the handle (drivers side only) - I did not even know this as not something I ever use.
Anyway , I installed a new handle , no difference. Light still flashing and handle not working (all other doors open and lock on the handle apart from drivers one , and remote locks and unlocks all doors)
Booked it into an ECU specialist , had a full scan done and he said it is showing a fault with the immobiliser module . He said tried resetting it but not working , and thus he was clueless what is causing the issue.
Car will start and drive all day long no issues apart from security light flashing and said door handle issue. When car is turned off it will not start for about 2 mins , it is almost like it needs to reset prior to starting again.
Checked / double checked all wiring is good after removing Android Interface. Not that bothered about the handle or the light really , but my concern is the delay in restarting if needed in an emergency situation.
Sorry for the long winded post... Issue been going on for quite some time now , and really hit a brick wall with this one. Anyone experienced this problem or have any advice?
Thanks , Simon
