Had to cut off the front of the stock skids to accommodate the new bumper mounting.

Also removed the tow hooks for some slippery approach angle smoothness.

Living in Phoenix my biggest hazards are giant rocks so I’m thinking without a skid blocking this hole will do ok until I can get one.

All washed up!

I found an app to measure angles on pictures (realizing it’s not 100% accurate but in the ball park) and measured the new approach and departure angles.
Much better than stock!

And when those angles aren’t enough, I can scraaaaaaape along. Haha

My ground clearance improved 7 inches for the front and 9 inches (directly behind rear tires was most dramatic) in the rear.

The ground clearance is now an even 24 inches at the bumpers.

I’m curious what everyone else’s ground clearance is with traditional bumpers (arb/ dobinson), lift and 33s is?

Hey Nate, saw the truck on the 101 this morning! Looks awesome. Totally factory looking. Very clean.

Revisiting this thread. Very seriously considering same operation on my LX. How do you like it a year on @FlightMedic178

If anyone on the front range of Colorado wants to try a front bumper chop with no risk, I have a stock bumper off my 2010 that I'll give you. It's black and located in Colorado Springs.

I'll be tossing it in the dumpster in a few weeks if nobody wants it. Last call.

Might take you up on that. Hadn't considered going this route.

It’s great! No issues at all. It even came in handy getting me unstuck recently! Highly reccomend!View attachment 2498312View attachment 2498313

LOVE these bumper chops (as many others do also). I was wondering if you could share pricing/cost for the fab work.

I’m new to the LC200 and don’t like any of the aftermarket bumpers available for the front and don’t want to commit to a swing out just yet.

you’ve had it for a year and a half now, any issues?
Also, how did you paint them?

thanks!

The rear was 870 and the front was 1400.
Absolutely no issues.
I originally painted them with rattle can, for touch ups I use a can of rustoleum flat black (using can and brush).
I beat them up to often to powder coat.
