2" x 4" x 1/8" hollow tube rear bumper reinforcement

if i weld on a 1/8" back plate [total thickness 1/4"] for my recovery hoops, will this be enough reinforcement for the recovery hoops [8000# winch]?

I see this is an old post but maybe you're still wondering. If it were mine, I would want at least 3/16" tube for a bumper that's going to be used as a winch point. I don't have any hard numbers or data but just from experience, I don't think 1/8" is stout enough.

Did you end up already building it?
