Just picked up this 14 model with 155 on it. Two odd things are happening.

1. When I am making a right turn and only a right turn going over 5 miles an hour, I hear a high-pitched tone seeming to be coming from the back. Just imagine blowing up a balloon and then pulling apart the mouthpiece and hearing that high-pitched whine. It’s not quite that high-pitched but near it. But as soon as I straighten out, the sound goes away. Again…only happens when making a right turn. So getting on an onramp that loops around and it does it the entire turn but as soon as I straighten up it stops.

2. When the vehicle is locked, and I walk up to it to put my hand on the handle to unlock it and open it, the lights and beeper flash and beep five times. This does not happen though when I lock it. I did notice that the passenger front door lock is not working with the button on the remote or the door. Has to be manually locked and unlocked. Don’t know if this could be part of that? I’ve seen where it will flash and beep five times when you’re locking it as a type of warning or reminder to check the backseat, but this is only when unlocking it.

The five beep thing is a warning but yours appears to be malfunctioning. When working correctly, if you close a door with the fob out of the vehicle and the engine running, you get 5 beeps to alert you that the fob has left the vehicle. I don't think there are any other scenarios where you get the five beeps. I would assume yours is related to the passenger door lock not working but hell if I know where to go from there.

The whine is probably rear brake related, and at 155K it's likely that some of the rear brake components may need be be replaced. It could be the rear pads being worn down to the wear indicators, the backing plate touching the rotor, or possibly something loose in the e-brake mechanism. The most likely candidate is worn rear pads, so I'd start there by seeing how thick they are and if the wear indicators are touching the rotors.
