2 burner stoves

My problem with the Coleman and Century stoves is that they do not put out enough heat. Yes, they are fine to heat up water for coffee, but when it comes to reheating an 8 qt. semi frozen pot of home made chili, it takes for ever.

That's why I went with the Camp Chef stove. Granted that you'll need to have a roof rack to carry the model I've got. But there's a smaller sibling that puts out 3 times the heat of a Coleman stove and it's not that much bigger:

Camp Chef Weekender 2 Burner Stove

It comes with legs so you don't have to find a table, or take up precious tabletop space with the stove.

Right now Amazon has it for under $115

Not bad considering that a two burner Coleman is around $70.

For the Camp Chef weekender, one might want to add the cost of the igniters ($12/ea from Campchef). Kinda lame that it doesn't include it already.

I got the camp chef explorer for free. That thing puts out heat, almost cant get it low enough. I have the Grill Box and the pro fry griddle. That combo is awesome. I have made great fajitas on it. Only used a few times.

I would recommend it over those POS coleman foldup grills. They use the small propane bottles, and they are flimsy.

Well, you guys talked me into it. I now have a Camp Chef Pro 60 stove. It's a monster of a stove, way more than I need right now, but I'll just have to grow into it (meaning, I'll have to start cooking something more than oatmeal and noodles). I bought the Century stainless stove over the weekend, but wasn't that impressed with it. It is marginally better than the Coleman, but they're basically still the same stove.

The good news is I found someone selling one used, with the deluxe griddle, carrying case, propane tank, all the accessories + some custom made extension tables, for less than I would have paid for the cheapest coleman stove. Man, the griddle alone weighs about as much as the stove, it would make a good skid plate on the bottom of my FJ. I'll probably de-virginize it this weekend with a few steaks.

Ducktape,

Congrats on your new stove!
We'll be waiting for the pictures on Monday...
