Who has replaced theirs? I did not realize originally that these were not unit bearings and will require a press. Is this the type of thing I can remove the major components and take to a machine shop? What else should I be replacing while doing it?

Yes you can remove the entire knuckle and take it to a shop...this will save you 2 hours per side approximately.

all you usually need is the wheel bearing itself, sometimes there is an additional dust seal, but I don't recall at the moment of these have those. There is also a retaining clip that wouldn't be a bad idea to replace also. Care has to be taken by the press operator to not screw up the backing plate.
