Want better MPGs? Don't drive 80mph on the freeway, 70 tops, keep it at the speed limit on the freeway and you will see better millage. 2800-3200 rpms seems to be the sweet spot in my experiance.
I am running 4.30 gears and heavy 35" tires. Using a GPS to correct my tripometer I get 17-18mpg around town, and I have seen close to 20mpg on the freeway on longer trips.
Here are some quick numbers for yearly cost if all you are doing is freeway driving, getting optimal millage.
12000/19 631.58
@2.60 1642.10
12000/24 500
@2.60 1300.00
So you might save about $350 a year, now how much would this conversion cost you? And how much will it drop the resale value?
