I bought a 1971 FJ40 with no drive train. After having the body professionally painted, my original plan was to put the B engine and drive train from my rustbucket 1980 BJ40 in it. But that car is in the Caribbean and I was not looking forward to doing thr swap there at my second home.
I saw a 1KZ for sale locally, a JDM with the 5 speed but the rear output is centered. I tried to follow links for a centered rear end but could not find. Where can I get one and do I even need one? I saw a thread where someone posted they just had a CV joint made up and used the stock rear end.
This is a car that will never see a freeway, just 3rd world roads.
Or should I just pay the 3 grand to have my BJ40 brought here to thr USA?
