Hello all,
I have got a 1998 1HZ engine out of an 80 series in my 75 series Troopy. Lately I've noticed that my fuel economy is getter worse and worse and the power is getting less and less.
When I go up an average hill it will drop to 80kmh and just tonight I had a mate in his 60 series with a 2h just pull out from behind me as we pulled out onto the freeway and overtake very easily.

The engine has approx. 300,000, reconditioned injectors last week and has 500psi (compression test) across all cylinders give or take 10psi. The car also has a recond transfer, new brakes and rebuild front and rear axles so they can be ruled out as unwanted drag on the car.
Does anyone have any ideas on what's going on and sorry for the long write up. Thanks in Advance.

possible causes : clogged fuel pick up at fuel tank/ injector pump need to be serviced/ lack of turbo

there is also a very little filter below the magnetic solenoid on the pump. If you remove it you can very careful pull it out. Sometimes this one is also clogged. Also check for your fuel filter, was it changed lately?
What about smoke while WOT?

If its not a restriction in the fuel system ,you could be looking at a pump rebuild. Is the power better when its cold ,then gets worse the warmer it gets?
Does it start easy when hot?
Was the engine good when you got it?
