So I'm just rebuilding a 1HDT and installing the heater pipe that runs from the block.
It's a very snug fit.

My question, is there anything apart from high temp silicon required to seal where the pipe is inserted into the block. There doesn't seem to be an o-ring options.

Ahhh, managed to find the answer from another site...

The pipe is pressed into the top of the thermostat housing which is one part with the block. We mostly cut the pipe off and use a wrench to wring the head of the pipe out of the block.

The new one can be tapped in with a hammer using a little silicone kit to close any leak that could develop while tapping in the head. Its what we name a " cold fit ".
