1grfe engine problim

Hi all hoping some one can help me out . I was driving down the high way today and suddenly the car stopped excelarating . It was idling perfectly but no response when I put my on the gas plus the check engine light was on so I pulled over had a look in the engine bay couldn't see anything wrong made sure the ecu was in tact the air mass flow sensor the the throtel body sensor all the harnesses wear connected . Tried switching it on and off still the

So I disconnected the battery lines and put them back to reset the fault and it worked . I wonder if it could be a fault throttle body sensor is there a way I can confirm this or do u think it could be something else ?

Best thing would be to read the fault codes out of the ECU. I don't know much about that generation of engine, but perhaps a general purpose OBD2 reader? Also, you should buy a Toyota repair manual if you don't have one already. It will have a good EFI trouble shooting section to deal with this type of problem. Good luck.
