I am in the process of rebuilding the engine in my ‘96. I already purchased a new short block due to the original block throwing a rod through the side of the block. I pulled the head this weekend in hopes of getting it to the machine shop, but upon inspecting the camshaft bearing caps, I ran across what I believe to be abnormal wear. Some have pitting and others have scoring or grooves you can feel with your finger. I’ve attached pictures of the worst caps. Do I need to plan on purchasing a new cylinder head? Thanks, Joe
