Almost there, the EGR valve is a liquid cooled unit from a Tacoma, the inlet port has much better placement. Just a couple of coolant lines and a support bracket or two...

This makes it even more fun to change out spark plugs. Did you ever actually finish this project and get it running?
 
I just completed/started the engine today... dual exhausts on high compression DOHC 24 valve inline 6 cylinder engines sound amazing, very E36 BMW M3esque.

The EGR that is installed ended up being a liquid cooled modulator from a Tacoma, which is actually in the pics above. It dosn't require precooling as the unit itself has coolant going through it... and In the end I decided not to hook up the EGR at all.
