I believe my 1F may have ate its pigs. I used the Pig last weekend to go camping and pulled a small pop up probably 60 miles total. Well I didn't run it again till today and to my surprise my engine had a knock to it. Thought it was probably a rod bearing going south of cheese so I was going to run it out of the pig pen so I could diagnose where the noise was coming from. But while backing it out it just died all together. The engine still cranks but sounds like there is no compression all together. So now I'm thinking my cam timing gear may have shat itself. I'm going back out to see if the dizzy is turning or not. Did they put it a fiber timing gear on these 1F's like some of the olds 302;s? Dumb, da dumb dumb dumb. Anybody ran into this before? I really don't want to loose the 1f as the pig is all original besides the speaker holes the PO left in the doors. And I was just contemplating selling it to get closer to getting an 80. Oh well, that's life in the fast lane. Any help would be great.

Just thought I'd post on what my pigs ailment was. Turned out the stock cam gear is fiber and it ate up a couple of teeth. A new cam gear from the Toyota dealership was all it took. Which by the way is metal. Don't know if it was a kosher deal but the gear is pressed on. I didn't care to pull the cam so what I did was heat the new gear in the oven to 275 for about 25 minutes and she seated nicely with a couple taps with a brass drift. Had to do the same with the crank dampner to get it back on as it didn't have a bolt in the crank like most other motors. Thought I'd post in case anybody else runs into the same issue.
