Hi
My old girl has 530K km and whilst it may last many years yet I can buy a 1998 complete engine with 230k km and was considering buying it and keeping tucked up in my shed for a rainy day. Currently asking $2k for it and whilst now out of the car it can be compression tested. In Western Australia everyone apparently a mining millionaire so we pay through the nose for everything with estimates for a rebuild being $13-20K depending on spec etc. Can items such as the fly by wire throttle etc be simply swapped over or is it more complicated? Australians mainly buy diesel Cruisers and there aren't a lot of 2UZFE to be found and the few I have seen at wreckers are $6-8K

Everything unique to 2004 can be swapped over.

I am thinking of buying a 230k km 2UZ from a 1998 100 series as spare for my 2004 LX470 530K KM +
The engine is out of the vehicle but he provided some comp test numbers when pulled it out 165:150:170:165:180:150:180:210 h said it was blowing a bit of white smoke at startup. I know its a crap shoot buying a used engine but everything in Australia is frigging expensive and this engine is complete with all ancillaries (he wanted the chassis) Opinions appreciated
