Hi from Vancouver Island Canada.

I am rebuilding a 1994 1KZ-TE. The idle gear no1 and the shaft are worn and needs to be replaced. There was no problem getting the gear but the I cant find the original shaft part number 1358167040. The only part available is 1358167041 but it is different than the original and does not fit into the block. I've read there were issues with this part in the early engines and it was redesigned. The new part does have larger oil holes and larger bolts.

I guess I have 2 choices, modify the block or modify the part. I'd prefer to drill a 13mm hole approx 4.5mm into the oil outlet of the block so the shaft sits flush with the mounts. Has anyone done this before?

Are there any options I am missing?

Any tips?

Thanks
