Hi all, I have got a 1993 LWB Prado. We had a lot of rain the other week and it let in quite a bit of water. I got the hose on to it and managed to find that its somehow coming through the air conditioning system through the vents at the bottom of the windscreen.

Does anyone know the best way to fix this problem as I cant seem to find the exact place the water is coming through the firewall.

If you have a sunroof make sure the sun roof drains are not clogged. My Prado LWB leaked when this was the problem. Cleaned the drain holes, blew the hoses out with low air pressure and all is good now.

There are two drain holes per side. The easy ones are 2 right at the front corners, get a stiff wire and while running some water to soften the gunk, gently push the wire thro. 2nd drains are along the rails. These allow water caught in the rail to flow to the main drains. To clean these I used a toothbrush and high pressure from the petrol station. Hope this helps

Im pretty sure the water is coming in from the 2nd drains along the rails. I will have a look and see if I can get in there but its a pretty tight space to be able to see what is going on. I may have to take it to a panel shop.

Start with a vacuum with a small nozzle if you can. Better to have the debris travel a short distance than force it all the way down the hoses. Use the air pressure as a final blow out. Make sure not to use too much pressure or it can wreck the hoses.
