I'm finishing a motor swap and I have a 4 speed auto transmission with awd transfercase for sale in good working order. Trans & TC were pulled with 186,xxx miles.

Located off of I-25 north of Denver

I see tons of fj80 trans/x-fer combos for sale and not many coming from 62. Seems that the fj80's have less of a problem with the trans to x-fer (or vice-versa) leak that plagued many 62's and having full-time 4wd in a 62 would be pretty cool.

The 80 setup would be great with a part time kit in the t-case. The trans and t-case are sealed seperately and you don't have to split the t-case to take them apart. They also don't seem to have gear slop that the 62s get. I have seen the 62 outputs with the splines paper thin from wear where the t-case gear rides. Not on the 80 with the finer 21 or 23? spline. I might do this swap soon on a high miler 62 to gain the center diff lock. I like the unlocked low range in my 80!

It should bolt right up since it was the same 3FE for those years 89-92.

It's still available and in my garage in Ft. Collins..I can send you some pix of the bellhousing to see if it's the same..

Maybe someone will chime in with a definative answer.

I think the transmission would definitely bolt up. Its the transfer case I'm not sure about.

Not Sure..

Your driveshaft lengths might need to be changed....but I wouldn't think you would have any mounting issues..Only way to know is to give it a try..I can take measurements for ya if you want to check size.
