1991 3FE - Headlight/DTL Burn-Out

Fellas,

I've been lurking these forums for a while, but am just now posting as I am the new owner of a 1991 3FE. I've been working through a list of to-do's, but a new issue has popped up. I am burning through headlights at an alarming rate (I'm talking a set per week. Yes, I know....). Most recently, the low beams burnt out and the high beams did shortly thereafter. After inspecting things this afternoon, I've found the DTL are also burnt. Fuses are good and headlight relay was replaced last week. All filaments are blown.

I've searched the forums and haven't seen anyone have such a catastrophic failure. Any ideas?

Can you check the voltage coming to the lamps?

~12.5v engine off
~14.3-5v with engine running

When installing bulbs you want to be 100% certain you do not handle with your bare hands. Any oil from your fingers can cause premature failure by overheating the glass.
