Ok Here is the history:
1990 R2500 Suburban with ABS
Replaced the front calipers, hoses, rotors and pads. Replaced rear shoes and wheel cylinders.
Spent hours trying to bleed the brakes and get some decent pedal. Finally removed the MC and found it had been leaking in the rear. MC was 6 years old, returned it under lifetime warranty. Discovered that the returned MC was incorrect. Was for a JB5 system instead of a JB7. Got the correct MC, bench bled it and installed it according to directions.
Now here is the problem. After several hours and almost 2 qts of fluid I still have no pedal. Researched about the combination valve. My combination valve has 1 pin, but 2 extra pin holes with rubber caps. 3 total. At first I thought maybe a pin fell out, but maybe not. There are 2 rubber caps on the combo valve and one on the RWAL. The one pin moves in and out as I push the pedal. I suspect this is normal. At first flance I thought there was also a pin on the other end of the combo valve, but either it doesn't have one or it fell out. I thought I would try to move the truck and have found the rear brakes are locked up. Cannot move the vehicle.
Can someone give me a bit of direction on how to correct this problem? Would opening the bleeders on the rear let the pin return to it's extended position and unlock the brakes? Once the brakes are unlocked, should I push the rear pin in before bleeding them again? Any help or information would be much appreciated. I am about ready to pull my hair out.
Thanks in advance
Brad
