1989 toyota dome light problem

Okay I have a 1989 Toyota 4x4. The dome light will not work. I've checked the fuse under the hood and its good and I've checked the bulb and it's good. Any suggestions on what to check next?

is the switch on the light ok? and is it set to come on when you open the doors?

I haven't checked the switch. Is there a easy way to check it. I've tried it on all different locations in the switch.

Pull switch out hook two wires togeather, if light comes on switch is bad. MIke

I went out an messed around with it and its working now.

Mine does something similar. Mess with it for a bit and everything comes on and then eventually it quits working again. I did two things to mitigate (not fix, but make it better). 1.) I pulled off the dome light and got a wrecking yard SR5 mp light setup. 2.) grounding. Make sure your grounding is top notch. Good luck.
