1988 FJ 62 Land Cruiser

1988 Land Cruiser. 4WD, AC, CD, 6 CYL 3F-E, EFI, 188K, Red. This truck is driven every day. I bought this truck last spring and have loved it. It has the Wilderness Rack with lights and the spare on top, 31x10.5 R15 Wrangler MT/R tires, w/Blacked out American Racing Wheels, Alpine CD player has been added with Ipod jack. When I got it, the Cruiser was a 3rd ride and I have now switched jobs, dropped one vehicle, and have a long commute each day. I hate to part with it but it just does not fit anymore with the new job. I have replaced the typical to keep it dependable daily; battery, alternator, belts, and rebuilt the radiator. I had the windows tinted in August. The truck was gone through in August by a certified mechanic. Exterior is in good shape with no rust. Interior is super clean and in good shape. Down sides: Has a long scratch on right front fender, and a hard to see dimple on the right rear. Does need a new latch on the rear hatch, it only opens from the inside. Other than that, the truck is good to go. Phone (662) 816-5621 and leave a message.

Price is $7,500 obo, located near Temple, TX.

I am an hour or less away from this and happy to check it out for anyone. I am assuming it is a 62 and therefore has an auto tranny? :(

Help a rookie

All right some of you Land Cruiser experts and fanatics. I need someone to just tell me something straight up. ???? What is my ride worth???? I bought it from a friend to help him out. I liked it and he needed to sell it. I do not know what it is truly worth. I feel like it is priced pretty fair to others I have compared it to. I have had some general interest from about 3 or 4 people over about three weeks now, but no hard bites. Somebody out their let me know what you think.

Thanks ahead of time.

OK, be prepared, you asked for opinions;

Your price isn't that out of whack to me. Maybe a little high. If it's really rust free, it's pretty rare. Don't be discouraged, it's just a very slow market right now. If you need to sell it quick, price is always the motivator.

Good luck with sale.

Has someone kicked the tires on this 62 yet? Your 62 looks nice. Priced a bit high compared to similar nice ones lately. Between 5K-6K tops depending on mileage.

See, a mudder still has to do at least an OME upgrade and maybe metal up front. How clean is the interior? Pics - lots of pics is key to selling in MUD, and pics of the usual problem areas is greatly appreciated.

Good luck!

Interior truly is clean too. I do not have a really good pic, but I will post a couple of more.

And yeah, I bought this truck in Oxford. I am in Texas.

How about a pic of the 1% rust?

Come on guys hes not a cruiser fanatic like all of us give him a break.

You need to post pics of the rear quarter panels behind the rear wheels and inside of wheel wells. Thats the #1 rust spot for these. Also where the rack attaches to the roof.

Also engine and if you can get underneath, pics of the chassis, suspension, and exhaust. Also of the interior from all 5 doors. Pic of engine bay.

ANY noticable dents, tears, scratches.

Tel us auto or manual, diff lockers, any mods that have been done and how its service history is. Ask your friend if need be.

It has lights up top, do they work? Pic of switch.

Thats the way to show off a nice vehicle. If its in perfect condition with 177k thats low, i wouldnt let it go for 7.5 or lowest 7k.

Taking pics of all this is a pita but worth it to sell your truck quick.

it's worth what someone is willing to pay you for it, not a penny less or more.
