Up for sale is a 1987 Canadian model BJ-70 Land Cruiser. This vehicle was legally imported from BC and has the appropriate door and motor stickers to prove it. It has a clean WA title and is registered as a Diesel vehicle. It passes emissions with flying colors. The truck is mostly stock in both the suspension and engine compartment. The interior is quite good for the age of the truck, with only some wear on the driver's seat. I have owned this truck for three years and have kept it in good running condition as it was my daily driver. The truck has done some light wheeling at Moab and a number of PNW fire roads. The diesel crawls nice and slow and tackles snow very well. As a bonus, the short wheelbase makes it super easy to parallel park. The truck is located in the Roosevelt neighborhood of North Seattle.
Features and work performed:
3.4L 3B Toyota Diesel, 328,000km (205k miles) good compression and oil pressure
H55F 5 speed manual transmission with overdrive.
New last winter 31x10.50 Bridgestone Dueler AT tires on 15x8 aluminum mags
New Toyota glow plugs (20k miles ago)
Rebuilt injectors (20k miles ago)
New front rotors/calipers/wheel bearings (10k miles ago)
24v-12v converter
12v relay system for trailer wiring
Heavy steel tube bumpers
New Toyota water pump and gaskets (10k miles ago)
New belts and lower radiator hose. (10k miles ago)
New RemFlex exhaust manifold gasket (5k miles ago)
All rubber fuel lines replaced with biodiesel compatible lines.
Rust in rear quarters and rockers repaired with steel, not a bondo patch.
Frame is solid, surface rust only.
Yakima Roof rack included, bicycle mounts are not.
MP3/USB/CD/HD radio stereo.
Rear Heat
Suspension Seats
20mpg without tire size correction.
Issues:
Parking brake is sticky.
Needs front inner axleshaft seal.
Needs backup light switch
Windshield is cracked on passenger side. I would have replaced it but--
Rust below windshield on passenger side. Can leak in heavy rain or snow.
Rear door key is broken (can be actuated from inside the truck).
Rust repair was finished with Herculiner. It could use another coat.
Various scratches and scrapes. Some oil leaks. Typical for a 25 year old truck.
I had originally bought this truck with hopes of putting a turbocharger on it and putting a small lift on it with 33" tires, all while running biodiesel. Due to various life circumstances, that never happened. Included in the sale are some items I collected toward that goal including two turbos (a Saab Garrett T-25 and Volvo Mitsu TD05), a modified Isuzu 4bd1-t exhaust manifold, silicone turbo elbows, FJ60 front and rear differentials with 4.11 gears, rocker panel sliders, and other spare parts.
Asking price for this rare Land Cruiser is $6000. I will entertain reasonable cash offers, but no trades. Local sale only. I will be glad to answer questions or post specific pictures as time allows.
