Hey guys who’s done a 12ht h55F swap using factory mounts on a 1979-1982 Land Cruiser
Would you go through the effort to fit a 5 speed tunnel if you had one available (I do) it’s the yellow one it’s pretty much all there
as per pictures the 5speed does get close on 79-82 body’s
Just wondering if it’s worth the effort and personal experiences thanks
By the location of the transfer shifter these are probably four speeds in a 10/82 40 series. The one appears to have a Fairey OD shifter back. The picture of the two inspection covers side by side can see how much further the transfer shifter is on the five speed.

The other have have a 60 series H55F top covers.
I’m aware of that I’m meaning the clearance as seen in the top pics are h55F 60/75 series in 79-83 tubs see how they have notched or bent the front of the tunnel to gain clearance I’m wondering if it’s worth all my effort to cut and weld in a 83-85 tunnel into my truck or if they don’t rub bad enough for people to care !
I’m not trying to do this to get a shifter in the right spot I’m wanting to do this to gain clearance between the gearbox and tunnel ! I am aware I’m going to have to get a different cover and still gonna have to modify it to fit my 60 series h55 cheers team
