Thanks guys. I don't know about "elite". I can't see how many on the mobile app but last time I looked there was a ton of views (like 60-70k?). Crazy!

Try close to 90k!! Pretty dam awesome, and an awesome little rig too.

How is the OEM Toyota parts support holding up for the RN37 trucks? In general is much still available for them from Toyota?

I haven't really bought many OEM parts for it lately. I imagine it's like everything else that age, going by the wayside. I know for sure carb parts are gone. Drivetrain stuff seems to be pretty good.

I say I haven't because nothing on the truck is original to the 1980 chassis for the most part.

Well, the truck is in it's new home. The sad thing is with my schedule now it looks like I will only be able to get it out once or twice a year if I'm lucky... It's really not worth keeping it if that's the case but I'm not gonna give it away. The prices on Toyota trucks are STUPID low right now. Def not worth it. If someone was willing to pay a fair price I would consider it.

On the bright side, if you're looking to build a truck like this or buy one already built, now is the time to buy!!

WTF! That's just crazy talk. I can feel your pain, with all the new projects I have on my plate I am finding my time at a premium these days too.

That's the downfall of getting past the point of being able to drive it on the road. Now it just sits.

There are other things that are factoring in as well but those are an off-line discussion.

Why can't you drive it on the road?

Why can't you drive it on the road?

I mean, technically you CAN drive it on the road but it's not exactly road worthy any more. It's just super sketchy and you can't really go fast. If you added a steering stabilizer (I have one, just never put it on) and balanced the tires, you could probably drive it on the road.

It is still road legal. Tagged and insured.

Then why don't you make this your project? Get her road worthy and take it to work sometimes.

It's way to far to drive it to work. It could be driven around some on the weekends maybe. I can't take the family in it since there's not enough seats though. I was thinking if I sold it I could put the money in our 4Runner or get a cheap 80 or something. The wheeling would obviously not be as hard core but everyone could go, and that vehicle could be driven any time.

Understand completely, just hate to see it go, that is if it does.

I'm not too keen on selling so we'll see. Like I said on the other thread, if I can't get what I think it's worth I'll just keep it.

Well, I posted a CL ad just to see if it got any attention. I had a couple of emails but nothing serious. I'll leave the CL ad up a while and if it still doesn't get any I'll pull it down.

Well if you can find me a stock rust free 1979 or 1980 4x4 short bed for a low price, I would be very happy! It does not even have to run, I have a good 20R.

Man. Good luck on the rust free part. I see them all the time down here for sale minus the drive train for sub $1000. I have never seen one that was 100% rust free though. Pretty much all of them would be rough by our standards.

Well, money is tight right now but I have a few little things to tinker with on the truck. My "overflow bottle" for the radiator is (and has been for like 2 years...) a Dasani water bottle. So, I have the rear washer bag thing that came out of the 4Runner I robbed the engine from. I'm going to try to retro-fit that as a washer bottle.

I also have an old door handle for a hood release and the cable is not right. It's already pretty stretched. So, I have the actual hood release from the 4Runner as well. I'm going to throw that in there.

I'll post up some pictures of the progress.

I'm also on a project for the :princess: right now. I'm in the process of tearing down an old dresser that I am converting to a kitchen island. Is there a furniture build thread section?
