1980 fj40 wiring issue

I am in the final stages of getting the wire harness sorted out and have a branch of the dash wire harness consisting of two white wires with black tracers behind the ashtray unhooked just bare wire ends. I am thinking they most likely were wired together with a ring connector and mounted to the dash someplace. Anyone know where this would be or what these grounds are for I will add a pic this evening.

So you should use the wiring diagram and the color coded wires to figure out what it does and where it goes.

I have several color coded wiring diagrams and the service manual looked them all over first before I asked the question. But I do thank you very much for the reply.

On my 79, white with black stripe is used for ground wires, often bundled together and branched off in the harness under the dash.

I'd check the appropriate schematic from Coolerman. Look for LR (blue with red) wires.
One possibility is the radio power. LR is also used for other accessories and lighting as I recall.
