1980 4x4 20r engine having idle problems.
I changed the oil and it lost the idle. Now engine oscillates and dies.
Could it be the Fuel Cut-off solenoid?
Thanks.

Spent all day trying to get the EGR valve off. Finally punched a hole with a steel punch and discovered that it WASN'T threaded on but installed with three little screws on the bottom. Then I started blocking off the vacuum lines to see where the air flow was coming from. No suction from the lines that go to the carb base. And I couldn't find any suction off of any of the other lines going to the EGR. So I blocked them all off except for one that went directly to a port on the carb, I removed the exhaust vent going to the EGR and discovered it was completely blocked with carbon gunk. Cleaned it out, put it back on, put some thermal tape over the old EGR port, and discovered that the Throttle spring was broken. Went to the parts store ang got a generic spring, replaced it, and it wont start. Screwed in the idle screw and , ta da, it starts right up and idles just like it did before I had the problem.
Started thinking it was probably the throttle spring the whole time. Oh well.
