Just got this in...engine out of a 1978 BJ40.....was running good but smokey, so i believe it needs a rebuild

was taken out to upgrade to a newer mercedes diesel (not done by me)

anyways would like to get about $575.00 CDN to get it out of my shop space....shipping of course extra or you pickup at my shop

picture's can be had on request

Do you have the fuel control relay for that 78 bj40 available for sale?

What modification were done in order to mount the MB motor to the toyota transmission? Did they use the 5cylinder cast iron engine 300TD? Thx

Sorry Mike, how the M deisel was fitted to the Bj 40 chassis is something i can not comment on as i have not seen the truck since the conversion, the truck and owner now reside near Edmonton, Alberta, he recently moved from near where i live and he asked me if i wanted this engine rather than moving it, so that's how i came into it. i did see this engine run, so at least its not just a lump of iron i know nothing about.
it would be good for rebuilding to put into another BJ 40 for the guy who wants to keep his truck original, no other parts at this time available from the BJ 40 but that may change

thanks for the enquiry

Do you have any contact info on the previous owner that you can share? Thx

all questions and requests are to come though me. Owner has requested this, he has indicated to me he has no interest in dealing with the public on the matter of his Toys

So if you have questions you know what to do, but in all honesty there is not much more to know, even i am not totally in the loop. I do not even know who did the conversion, i understand it was some friend of the owner from the old country (germany)

Sorry

Best Regards

Gord
