1973 1.5f crank play

Partially tore down a old 1973 1.5 f forgot to measure crank thrust bearing play before removing the pistons i have considerable crank play is that normal with connecting rods removed or should it have same amount of play either way thanks

shouldn't matter either way. thats what the thrust bearing is for.
