Hi my name is Gus I was lurking around on here for over a year trying to find a cruiser that would fit my budget and allow me to have a little fun working on it myself...
I believe the vehicle has a build thread on here somewhere? Tom's I guess? This was the vehicle that had the debate wether it was a restore or not? (vintage off road)
I am going to start this new adventure with the help of Y'all (I hope?) Last 6 of the vin are 516337.
I would like to hear any suggestions for which diesel conversion would be the easiest and least costly to swap? Desired outcome... 65 on the freeway... everyday driver... able to run on the beach and in the snow...and possibly run on Veggie oil or a mixture....(eventually I'm sure my sons are gonna take it trail riding but that would be for a future build of course and more knuclebusting fun )

I am a complete noob... so please if you will dumb it down for me and if you will be patient i will eventually figure this out? I have owned a 1999 lx 470, and currently own a 2006 lc. plus this new addition...
I will post pictures as soon as I can and if allowed to upload the build thread I will do that also...

Thank you in advance and i believe I have been hooked (hoping not to be gutted and filet)
Gus

Gus welcome and congrats ont he new addition. that truck has alot of history some good some bad but it is good to see a new chapter forming.

I run a 2f in my lv and find it lacking in power on the highway. 60-2mph is my max average. thus I am switching to a chevy v8. diesels are kewl but for the most part the toyotas have less power. a Cummins 4bt seems to be one of the hotter cruiser swap engines these days but with any swap the cost can escalate fast. I would stick with an american diesel in that parts will be esier to come by and most of the toyota diesels are not aimed at going 65 on the highways. the ones that are like the 1HDt and such can get expensive just o get ahold of let alone install and since they were never in US cruisers parts can be tricky
anyway welcome and start posting some pics.
