Hey folks:

I have a “3-hole” FJ25/early FJ40 rear view mirror for sale. Please see the photos for the exact condition. It obviously needs some work if you want it to be perfect, but the steel is there to clean it up if that’s what you want. It rotates freely as shown in the photos. I’m asking $350 OBO including domestic shipping. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!

Very best,

Reuben

Still available?
Thanks for the interest. I do still have it, but I decided to work on restoring it since I hadn’t gotten much interest as-is. I laser cleaned it to get all the rust out of the nooks and crannies before sanding it and filling the surface imperfections with All Metal filler. My plan is to finish it and put it up for sale. I’m just about to put primer on it. I still need to order a replacement mirror for it and finish the outer trim that holds the mirror in place. I was unable to break the nut on the mounting shaft loose and have worked around it in place. I still have some polishing to do on the nut. I’m going to try to attach some photos. I can let you know when it’s done if you’re interested.

Yep, you bet! I’ve thought about making a bracket as well. I have another one that does come apart, and I’ve been thinking about using a lathe I inherited not too long ago to try to make a reproduction spindle or post (not 100% sure what it’s called, but the thing that attaches the mirror head to the bracket). However, I think I have a lot to learn about the lathe before I can take that on!

Yeah ... LONG story ... it was a mistake. I honestly thought SturgeonGeneral no longer existed, but I managed to sign into it accidentally. I used the email address I thought was associated with NOTAGEEP that was actually associated with SturgeonGeneral and didn't realize it. I used it a couple of times before realizing I was posting as SturgeonGeneral.
