Has anybody with a 2017 or later model LC200 noticed an option to toggle the odometer and the
 
I know my 2020 does and I expect any '17+ will switch between US, Imperial, and metric.

If you know of a specific year you are targeting you can download the owner's manual for free from Toyota. The following link will take you to a page on the '17 model. To view other years just change the year at the end of the hyperlink.

Yes. It is done from the steering wheel. Setting > Meter Settings > Change Units
 
I’m no expert but i don’t think your odometer has to be metric. Only the speedo has to have km’s which I believe they all have in small numbers around the “dial”.
And it’s not because Canadians may be “tricked”, it’s so Americans know how fast 100 km/h is.

My read was that the odometer has to show units. Can be either. I am also not an expert.
I am continuing to research and can hopefully eventually post something useful
