Does anyone know if they ever made factory non-split 16" wheels? I have an '80 HJ45 and the wheels are the grey 16" Splits -- I've heard they are sort of dangerous....and want to get something similar in a non-split. I've seen 15" that look similar on SOR's site, but they have hubcap tabs, and I don't want that....as always any help would be appreciated. Thanks:beer:

Yes they made 16 inch rims, I believe it was for pickups though, and they are compatible with those of the 60 series, so possibly should fit on the 45 as well. They sell for about $115 in the US, less in Canada (go figure). There are very plain though (simply painted grey), and are designed for narrow tires (I believe they are 7 inches wide). Browbear uses them on his 60 IIRC.

I think you'll find the consensus around Toyota users who actually have split rims is that they are not dangerous at all and have a different design from the American made stuff that created the myth. However if you don't mind the bling factor. Tundra, steel wheels are fairly inexpensive from the dealer and fit nicely.

-- Do you know where can I buy them? What size tires do you think will fit on them -- I'm looking to do either a 32 or 33 tall by 9-10.5 wide All terrain ( if I can find 'em )

i had 16" at one time and ran 235-85R16. i think this is comparable to 33x9.5's
