I need one wheel to be used as a spare, or a set of 5 15 x 8 with 3.5" backspacing.

My rims are only 7" wide and not optimal for a 35 x 12.5 x 15 tire.

Color does not matter as it will be painted flat black.

I do prefer the "wagon wheel" style to match the other 4.

Thanks very much!

Lash,
FWIW I've had GREAT results with my 12.5" wide tires on the factory 7" wide rims. Been that way for over a year and I dig the fact that when I air down the combo makes a natural bead lock...

Eric,

I have heard from the Pros that it will not allow me to air down as much as an 8 to 10 inch wide wheel as the tire could loose a bead easier. Also the center of the tread will wear more than the edges (cupping) if aired up to recommended pressure. It does not allow the tread to make a full contact patch due to pulling the bead inward resulting in a taller narrower tire with rounded tread versus flat tread.

That being said, if I can't find a wheel in the next week or so, I will move forward with my 15 X 7's.

Thanks

In the past, I've had 11.5" tires on 10" rims and they could not be aired down at all. The cupping has not been a big deal to me and I run 40psi in my current tires so that makes the balloon effect in the center even more exagerated. Pressure is all relative to weight of vehicle, my wagon will wear differently than a CJ if we run the same tires at the same pressure due to weight differences.

But definitely go with what you're more comfortable with, it'll give you peace of mind.

Can you spell Choctaw! I told you he had some wheels and he told me today he will hook you up.

Later,

I did not want to break up his set of four. What would he do with the remaining 3 wheels??

Somebody's got to have a single wheel I can use, right???

Well as it turns out, Choctaw has three of a kind and one odd wheel. Yeah their all 15 x 8 wagon wheels, but the patterns are a little different. He has been kind enough to sell me the odd wheel.

Somehow getting the odd one seems to make things... even.

Mud Dawgs here I come!
