15 LC front emblem/radar

Reading another thread today concerning radar and decided to ask...

The front emblem on my 15 LC, in front of the radar, is looking weathered... Like plastic headlight lens weathering. Replacing it is prohibitively expensive. Has anyone had any luck cleaning one up? How'd you do it?

I polished mine up and it worked well. Do the restoration the same way you would do headlights (sand -> polish) .
